Shopping Spree

I decided to be a nice mom and let the kids actually have the money they got for Valentine's Day from Janet and Maggie and Charles, rather than deposit it into their "college savings" account.
They were ecstatic.  Riley was a smart shopper and spent wisely.  She got some beads from Hobby Lobby and some little eraser things that are all the rage at school.  I swear, I've never seen a kid so excited about erasers!  She still has $10 burning a hole in her pocket.  She's contemplating how she will spend it.
Macie and Charlotte aren't the smartest consumers, but I bit my tongue and let them buy what their little hearts wanted (although I did steer them toward the 50% off jewelery at Children's Place).

The loot: sunglasses and necklaces from Children's Place, little cell phone lip gloss thingies from that cheap tween jewelery store that every mall has, and hand sanitizer and little holder things from Bath and Body.  Again, so much joy from the weirdest things.  Charlotte is a bit obsessed with sanitizer.  She bought three.
They had no control.  They wanted to buy everything.  Hopefully the experience was worth it, cause I can guarantee the sanitizer will be gone in two days, the sunglasses probably broken in a week or two, and the cell phone things already came apart!
In any case, THANK YOU, Janet and Maggie and Charles.  They were thrilled.  :)

Oh, and a note on the sunglasses.  Charlotte knew for a week that she was going to buy sunglasses because her old pair broke last week.  I told her we'd go yesterday, but we didn't make it.  Last night she said, in a very serious and worried voice, "But what if it is sunny tomorrow?"

Too cute! Sometimes a little 'retail therapy' is good for the soul! :D I'm glad that Charlotte got her shades before she had a sunglass crisis...whew! Love those girls, and their little brother! :) Hugs for everyone! <3

I love the strawberry sunglasses! It sounds like you went to every teen dream store in the state. Nice loot, girlies!
