Born To Play

Not sure where he got it from, but Carver has almost perfect shooting form at age 2! (It is enjoyed most in mute to block out Macie and Charlotte fighting in the background.)

March Madness and Spring Has Sprung

A former co-worker from Utah State is now the ticket manager at BYU and he got us tickets to the BYU game in Louisville yesterday. We hadn't planned on Riley coming with us, but she woke up with pink eye so we had to go with plan B and luckily the tickets weren't in high demand.

The flowering pear tree in our front yard is amazing right now!

Chess at the Library

As many of you are aware, I've been taking Felix to chess lessons at the Carnegie Library each Saturday when I'm home in Pittsburgh.  At the class's last meeting a week ago, a photographer was there, working on a photo essay on activities at the Library, and asked for permission to take pictures of Felix and me to use in his work.

This morning I received an email from him with the images, some of which I included below.

This Saturday, as a sort of follow up to the lessons, there is a youth chess tournament at the Library that Felix wanted to participate in, so we signed him up.  I'll try to remember to take a camera better than the one on my phone and remember to report how he fares.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon in CT

A photo of three of the house guests at my bachelor pad in Stamford, CT this weekend.

Highlights? In typical small-world LDS fashion we knew from the telltale temple picture and RS-meeting crafts on the wall of the 2nd home listing we visited that they were members, found their names on the mailbox and then tracked them down at Church the next day.

Then, at the second Ward we visited yesterday in NY, I ended sitting right behind another Pepsi employee in Priesthood opening exercises, then today we ended up with the real-estate who'd sold his family their home.

Another highlight for me was when Daphne was going around the bedroom where we all slept last night giving everyone raspberries on their bellies and cracking up herself and all the rest of us.

Mostly I came away grateful for Margie and all her sacrifices, hard work, and patience while we've been going through some unexpected twists and turns.
