Mammoth Cave National Park - KY

This is the world's longest known cave system, with more than 400 miles explored. Today we paced ourselves and explored two miles, leaving the other 398 for another day. Photos were taking way too long to upload so for additional pictures you will have to visit Facebook.

One

Wesley turned one on Monday but we celebrated his bday at Joyce and Jed's house Sunday. Weasel and I were in charge of the cake so we whipped up a red velvet cake with butter cream frosting. However, Weasel didn't want the cake red, so she made a "blue suede" cake instead using neon blue food dye. She also dyed the frosting pink for that special touch. The blue suede cake was pretty delicious if I do say so myself.

Here are a few photos from the extravaganza that basically featured Wesley being ogled and spoiled by about a dozen people. By the end of the evening he was DONE. It was a lot of fun.

Rex Rocks

Rex putting what he's learned in one month of drum lessons to good use.

Raffi

Daphne and I were so lucky to go see Raffi perform live!  I'm pretty sure I was more excited about it than Daphne.  1 - because I love Raffi and 2- because I don't think Daphne really understood where we were going.  She just wanted to hear her favorite song, Baby Beluga, which she did get to hear.    You'll notice she was dressed to the nine complete with a dress good for twirling, which she did a lot of during the concert.  I said it once and I'll say it again, I just love Raffi, and he put on a great show for a group of very enthusiastic toddler groupies.  We had so much fun!!
