Day of Miracles

We have at least two bigger miracles to be grateful for today.

First, Amy called us at the hospital a little before 2pm to tell us that our power had come back in after nearly six whole days of being out.

Second, and even bigger, our new son was born less than two hours later, at 3:23pm. He's a big, healthy boy, at 10lbs 14oz and 23" long.

We appreciate everyone's thoughts, prayers, and support over what's been a very tumultuous past year-plus.

Children in Bondage

We were reading in Alma 30 about Korihor and came to the part when he is contending with Alma and accuses the Nephites of ill-using their own people when he says, "...that ye may glut yourselves with the labors of their hands..." Rex asked what the word "glut" means and I clumsily explained that it means you make other people do all your work so you can be lazy. Of course Felix jumped on this and said, "Like you do to us?" Sure looks like they way things work in our house according to the picture above.

Go-cart Fun

Felix recently received his first invitation to a classmate's birthday party--at a go-cart track.

He was in heaven, and Rex was very jealous, especially considering one has to be 48" AND 7 years to race at this track.

This weekend another classmate is having a part at Chuck E. Cheese's.

A Few Things From Kentucky

 Guess who?

A family in our Branch gave us a couple train sets they said their son had out grown. Carver was in heaven and, as you can see, the girls have enjoyed it, as well.

Something old and something new

I found this photo of Grandma P in the Utah Historical Society archives under "Mrs. Lawrence Palmer." I'm attaching another photo of Louise R. Palmer, wondering if she is a relative as well. I have no idea why randomly gma is in there.

I'm also attaching photos of Wesley. One of him crashed out flexing his guns, and the other of him in his high chair. He's a bright-eyed little sucker and always has that goofy grin on his face. I think he looks so much like Bubba.

Labor Day Bowling

The boys held me to my promise to take them bowling today.

We bowled three games, and Felix and Rex each had a game where they were above 50 withOUT the bumpers, picking up points in 19 of the 20 frames in those 2 games between them.

Naturally, we couldn't make it through the day without some hijinks.

Claymation Bowling

The holiday weekend got off to an amusing start today when the kids were playing Play-Doh. Rex, Felix, and I collaborated, and the claymation bowling sequence below resulted.

By the end Rex was asking when we could go bowling again...we're totally going on Monday.

Happy 45th Anniversary!!!

I think I took this picture 45 years ago. Grateful to have a great brother and that he chose well when he married Karen.

Crazy Carver

A few pictures of Carver showing off one of his new Cars shirts. It's pretty much all he will wear - he has some issues! If you look closely, you can also see he has bedazzled his booster seat with Cars stickers - crazy kid.

Weasel and I went to the Zombie Walk in downtown SLC tonight. It is exactly what it sounds like. Around 500 people dressed as Zombies and Zombie killers--naturally--met at Memory Grove and walked around downtown for no other reason than they love the undead. I can respect that. Weasel had a grand time running around shooting portraits. I was shooting Polaroids and this is one of the gems I came home with.

I hope everybody is doing well.
