Mary Poppins at the CML!

Yay! I have a picture to share! I dressed up for Halloween at the CML since the chumpsters from the University Preschool were coming in. You might wonder if I will EVER wear anything but that Mary Poppins costume! :) I think that after this year it will have to be retired. Even though I think it is a cute costume, I'm getting a little bored with it, and kids don't know who Mary Poppins is anymore anyway! It is always fun to have the kids come in. I got to do 2 storytimes, and the kids were hilariously cute in their costumes. Shortly after they left, I changed into my civilian clothes...it's not so much fun to be dressed up all day at a University! Mostly you just get strange looks! Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!

Amy, I would kill for a story time by you. We had a great on in Logan. "Quackers" the duck and other puppets read stories, sang songs and danced. Here in Idaho we headed out to the Iona library which is only a couple miles from the house. Iona is just a little farming community and the library is a room (yes, just one room) in an old LDS church. Story time consisted of an old lady in the basement of the church reading a book. Remember how pitiful the reader was on the Polar Express train ride? This is about the same. There seemed to be zero creativity and energy. I was sad. Riley still likes going. She sits on the mat while the other two kids there run around and the lady reads the book from her folding chair. I think we will have to head into town and check out the IF library, but with having you and Maggie in the family we always are disappointed. We know you guys would be so much more fun!!
Anyway, you are awesome. Keep up the good work :)

Amy, I would kill to have maintenance workers like the ones at your library. They don't let anything stop them.

If a light bulb needs to be changed, you can count on them to change it ... even if it is in the middle of a Halloween costume party or story time!

That's dedication ... or was he just a prop? Maybe one of your chimney sweeps. Chim-Chiminey Chim-chiminey chim, chim, chirree!

Ha ha! Yeah, I noticed that guy too...although not during the event, which seems strange! :) I can't tell what he's doing...maybe getting a kid down from the rafters? Anything's possible!

I think I figured out what that guy in the picture is doing. I think he was dressed up as a handyman and was actually holding his camera up taking pictures. I'll never be sure, but that's my guess judging on the number of people that were taking pictures. I think it was just destiny that it looked like he was doing some heavy work behind me! :D
