Welcome to the JimmySyme Blog - I thought I would start things off with a few pictures from our trip to Salt Lake City on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. We went to see Barney Live on Tuesday and then Riley went to a Halloween Party with her cousine Kade on Wednesday. No he is not in the KKK, he is supposed to be a ghost. Riley is actually going to be a Princess, but had to borrow the Lion costume since we came ill prepared for the neighborhood Halloween party. I hope everyone enjoys posting to the blog.

Hi all,
Great idea for us to be able to know what's happening or not!!! in our lives. Loved seeing pictures of Riles the Lion.
I just cleaned up a mess in my den from doing family history yesterday. I'm still searching for Benj. S. and for my Grandma Syme's grandparents on her father's side---the Loves.
This is a happy day for the students of Nevada--Nevada Admissions Day--no school!
Maggie
Hurrah for the first official comment. Speaking of family history, Maggie I promise I am still working on the names you gave me. I just have a few more endowments to do. I know we are coming up on the year mark and I am embarrassed to say so...
I spoke with Todd last night and he didn't know origin of Jimmy Syme. It seems that when I first had to get a Social Secuirty Card in about 1951 or 1952 for my Salt Lake Tribune paper route, I signed up as Jimmy Syme Johnson. It was not until I started getting statements from the Social Security Administration that I realized that my name was offically Jimmy Syme Johnson. Since I am about to start drawing Social Security benefits I changed my name about 6 months ago.
We all have Beauford and Edna Croft from Rock Springs to thank for continuing "Jimmy". They called me Jimmy in ZCMI many years ago when Karen and I were engaged and Karen continues to call me Jimmy to the present.
I like the idea of the blog. Although I'm not sure about the name!
I spoke with Todd last night and he didn't know the origin of Jimmy Syme. I seems that when I applied for a Social Security Card back in 1951 or 1952, i told them my name was Jimmy Syme Johnson. I didn't know that it was my official name with the Social Security Administration until I started receiving statements of what my benefits would be when I started drawing Social Security. Since that day is now drawing near, about 6 months ago I went and officially became James Syme Johnson to the SSA.
As you all know Karen calls me Jimmy, and we have Beauford and Edna Croft of Rock Springs to thank for that. When we were engaged we encountered the Crofts in ZCMI and they called me Jimmy and you mother continues to call me Jimmy to this day.
Jimmy Syme Johnson
Obviously Jimmy Syme didn't know that the first comment regarding the origins of Jimmy Syme went through...I really not getting senile...yet!
