Pix, pix, pix

The moment you've all forgotten about by now, but have waited for.  Pix from the reunion.

Both enjoy the pix and cuss me simultaneously.  Bubba did.

p.s.  For anyone, including myself, who says, "I look fat, my hair is jacked, what's that growing out of my mole?"  I'm a photographer, not a magician or plastic surgeon.  Cope.

The Amy/Jamie show...

When I went to Utah for the BYU children's literature symposium, I had no idea that I would be coming back to Las Vegas with such a CUTE, FUN souvenier! :) Jamie came back to Vegas with me, and stayed for almost 2 whole weeks! She spent a lot of time with me at the library, and we took a quick, weekend trip to California for some beach time and relaxation. Here are some pictures from her visit:

On our way back to Vegas, putting the girl to work!

On our way to the library...my cute little assistant!

She even looks the part with her sweater and bun, right?!

My sweets, about to leave me! :(

It was great to have Jamie here...now that she's gone, I don't have anyone to talk to on the way to work, no one to come sit on my lap while I'm working, and no one to watch Disney shows with! Love that girl...she's welcome ANY time she wants to visit us!

yah, yah, yah.....i know

I'm dragging my feet on the JFR pix.  Duh, I know.  I'm working on them.  I've just been working on other projects that hopefully will generate actual dinero.

p.s.  I have another show up.  The reception was a bust.  You can all sell my art when I'm dead and go to Sizzler.

Chocolate-Loving Vegas Visitor

We've loved having Jamie visit "The Entertainment Capital of the World!" She's been assisting Amy at the CML on most days, but Wed. we took a field trip to the Bellagio Conservatory and to Jean Philippe's bakery/chocolate fountain. Check out her chocolate-covered strawberry! She loves sweets and IS sweet. We'll miss her!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Janet, considering how late we usually are with birthdays, I think you can go ahead and figure this is right on time :) We love you and hope you had/have a wonderful birthday!

Reunion memories...*sigh*

I think that we just need to buy the Johnson Family Compound now, and get that thing up and running so we can have JFRs every day! Who's with me?! :) I sure had a good time at the reunion...so fun to spend time together. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful, fun, cool, cute family! I'm just posting a few pictures here. I will burn all of the pictures/videos I took onto a CD for each household...then you can do with them as you please! Love you all SOOOO much!!

C.T. Starfish and Champion of the world

I love the pictures everyone's been posting. I am working on the ones I shot at a feverish pace...sort of. I'm frantically working on my new website, so everything else has sort of taken a backseat for a few days. Check it out; 28images.com.

I will edit the photos I shot and get those online. Hopefully everyone has recovered from the great reunion. I had a ball. I loved seeing everyone and forget how much I miss spending time with you guys. I'm hoping Todd/Val and Scott/Margie are slowly helping their kids sleep through the night without having nightmares of C.T. I saw that picture and wet myself. Not a pretty sight. Also, I appreciate whoever took the picture of Todd, me, his giant starfish nipples and my lifeboat strapped to my belly. I have new resolve to get my butt--and everything else--back into shape. Look out 2011, C.T. will be putting on some "fireworks," BAM, BAM! in his SPEEDO!

To Bone & Back

Valerie and I ran in the To Bone & Back 40-mile relay this morning. This is a picture of seven of the eight members of our team. Each person ran a 5-mile leg and while we haven't seen any official results, we think our team did pretty well. The course was pretty hilly, but it was fun to be outside (and we got a babysitter so that made it all the better).

Glacier weather and Yay Me!

Hey everyone! Just think...in only ONE week we'll be spending the 4th together, listening to Jimmy talk about the fireworks show at the Boy Scout Jamboree of '53! :) I am excited to see everyone! But I digress...

I'm here on a mission from grandma to share a final weather forecast for the reunion...I was getting conflicting reports when I looked on the internet, and I was spreading false rumors indicating that it was going to be chilly. Grandma talked to the authority on all things Glacier (her contact "Deb"), and apparently it has been in the 70s and 80s...LOVELY! Of course it will be cooler in the morning/evenings, so bring jackets and be prepared, but no need to bust out the winter clothes! Yay!!

On an unrelated note, yours truly just got a promotion! This is a GREAT opportunity for me! Here's the e-mail that the Dean of Libraries sent out making the announcement:

As you all know, Tamera Hanken starts as our new Director of Technical Services on July 1. We are all very excited to have her join us.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to Jen Fabbi for her willingness to step in and lead the Technical Services Division this past year, in particular in leading the work of "Revisioning Technical Services." The work we did will help frame the directions for the next biennium. http://staff.library.unlv.edu/index.php/Revisioning_Technical_Services

After a two week overlap with Tamera to help with orientation, Jen will return to her role as my Special Assistant half time. I am also pleased to announce that she will also be working half time in the Office of the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, concentrating on Undergraduate Education initiatives. Jen will be working with Dave James and others in the Provost's Office to help with the undergraduate education review that is underway. This is a terrific opportunity for Jen and for the Libraries. Please join me in congratulating her on this outstanding opportunity.

As you can see, Jen will not be returning to the CML. During Jen's absences, Amy Johnson has done an outstanding job as the Interim Head of the CML. Starting July 1, Amy will become the permanent Head of the CML and will work closely with Paula McMillen, who will become the Liaison for all of the departments in the College of Education. Because of her collection development and instruction activities and her regular interaction with faculty and students in the College, I have asked Amy to join the Liaison's group. Both Amy and Paula will report to Vicki Nozero. I would like to thank the entire CML staff for their flexibility and commitment to providing the best possible service and assistance to their patrons. Congratulations Amy!

Please join me in thanking everyone who has stepped up during this time of further (or is it continual) transition.

Aggie Graduates

Well, at least the ones that could make it last weekend.
